Firefox update: how to restore single line spaced bookmarks

This was a baffling feature in a recent Firefox upgrade, stretching all the bookmarks so that if you have quite a lot of them you have to scroll off the botttom of the page to find ones at the end. Just a weird waste of space. Normally there’s a setting you can set to True or False in about:config, but not this time.

Happily Vishal Gupta has written some excellent instructions which I followed precisely and the matter is now solved, hooray. If your Firefox bookmarks look like the picture on the left and you’d prefer that they look like the one on the right I recommend following Vishal’s instructions.

Firefox’s update (on the left) has introduced a lot of unnecessary white space into the bookmarks. After following Vishal Gupta’s instructions the normal spacing (on the right) is restored.
